I think it said somewhere that your unranked mmr was going to have an impact on your calibration if you didn't have a ranked mmr for which the system could start your calibration at.
So that would imply that if your unranked mmr is 5k you could probably get away with calibrating at Divine.
how many games is needed to calibrate? i thought it was 120 but im still lvl18 on acc :(

yes i can confirm max calibration is still same for level 20 accounts.
actually i didnt finish calibrating, but i can see its around 3k cus i get legend 1 or 3 players at matches, so i think its obvious 3.5k barrage still on. also i should add i never played solo mmr at that account played only party mmr so my solo was uncalibrated before medal thing came on.

Since you never once calibrated for solo MMR the game automatically places your limit as the 3500 cap that would have been your previous maximum.
Your account is an outlier... would need a fresh lvl 20 account to verify.

How does that make sense? The whole point is to see how high you can calibrate on an account that has solo uncalibrated. And that's what his account is. He hasn't finished that calibration but he didn't do so on the old ranking system, only the new one. Anyway, I don't think there's a point looking into this since the actual matchmaking rating and system hasn't changed except for forcibly hiding your MMR (number) and forcibly displaying your Tier (medal).
It makes sense because he had already calibrated for ranked (party) in the previous season.
If you check the console, the game doesn't actually treat the two as separate entities — moreso outlined by the MMR in party being averaged out.
If you've never calibrated solo but have 5000 party MMR the game treats your solo as 3500 and will average you to 4250 ; which is maybe what's happening in this case.
Either way unless someone can come up with a fresh smurf from this patch that hasn't even played a single ranked game... It's all suppositions.
