Roshan or high ground? in General Discussion
brain damage

Let's say 3 enemies are dead...you push and force buybacks or take Roshan and then push?
Let's say both teams are on the equal

Nah, you gotta push rax at that point. If you have a choice between an aegis or taking rax, you take rax. Taking Rosh is something you do when you have map control (you force the enemy team to stay in their base) but you aren't quite ready to push high ground

      Midori-No-Kinoko

If you do push and force out a bunch of buybacks, then you back off and wait to see if you can force a teamfight or pick off. Kill players who don't have buyback.

Depends if it is difficult to push or not. Sometimes 2 heroes can def Long enough and buy enough time that you don't get anything out of hg. Sometimes rosh is absolutely necessary for hg esp if it's hard to contest when all heroes are alive

Honestly depends on enemies team lineup, if they have something heavy(Tinker Sniper Titan , teamfight ults) that makes taking highground aids and you will probably fail and lose your rax instead its better to tank up and get Roshan first and hope for pickoff when BB is on CD.

If you can kill rosh fast 100% roshan, you still have time to force buybacks.

also depends on where the creeps waves are. It is almost 30 seconds to push creeps from your side to enemy towers

bsj put it really well: whatever objective that leads into the other, do that one first. unless u can just go throne and end then do that

so if rosh can lead u to hg but getting hg cant secure u rosh, do rosh. if hg can secure u rosh but rosh cant really secure hg do hg. for example vs a dead tinker. if both can lead to the other one, then it means whatever u do u'r probably winning anyway

unless its 3 core die and they no bb

                    rs is just way safer

also special cases on lategame, that one i can't predict that much

I always prefer HG and raxes to rosh, as it brings you closer to the end game. Roshan is from my point of view more of "win more/turn it around" objective untill important refresher shard.

There comes 3 exceptions for me:
                        1) You have quick rosh (Ursa/Troll/extremelly farmed carry + something like slardar/solar), they have still 60+ sec respawn, so you can go HG.
                        2) It gives you huge shard, which wins you a game (doom, void, enigma, tide, magnus, ss etc).
                        3) Your mid creeps are all dead, next spawn is in 20+ sec, other lanes pushing to you and enemy respawns in less than 60 sec - you are waiting 20 sec for creeps to spawn, another 30 to walk up to enemy base, glyph and all enemies are back to def - you will not force buyback, unless you have really pushing laneup, you can max force enemy to fight without order or plan.
                        4) Enemy has smart Kotl, Storm or NP, who just kills all your creeps before you cross river and you cant go HG anyway.

                        poggies

Always rosh dumb animals if you fail hg the enemy takes it

                          Suck my tiny curry dick

You farm jungle until they are alive again. Try to drag the game out and make it over a hour long.

dont be thrilled by this ...

roshan if they have bb, I asked the same question to some 5k and 6k friends and they all told me that roshan is better. if they buyback you got nothing but a buyback and then you depend on the enemy to fuck up, if they play safe for the buyback duration you got nothing. however aegis can be the difference to win a key teamfight and with it the game

                                  The answer is situational..

Hmm maybe I have been neglecting roshan too much , I usually preferred forcing buy backs but you guys have me thinking maybe should do fish more often

I had quite a few games where going hg was the mistake
