I find in Gamepedia old spell of Naga Siren in 6.72 patch. seems like 1 spell of Grimstroke i think.

Valve use old spell's for new heroes or i am mad?

The difference between the current riptide and the old version is the cast area, it used to be a V shaped cone in front of the caster, like the brewmaster fire breath. And it also wasn't casted by your illusions, like now.
