Even if deny will not give 25% xp to denier, it will give opponent less xp as compared to when he kills ur creep himself.
So, it can be said that last hits will be contested more now.

Most people didn't give much of a crap about denies because it's harder to notice the rewards than the KA-CHING effect, so they couldn't be bothered.

The only change it should bring about contesting denies is that now the carry who farms with a support will have to take priority over the support when denying. It shouldn't change the contest at mid. But as seems to be the consensus here people will probably contest them more in pubs because it's more pleasing and noticable to them.

alchemist as an example. I'm just saying the classic mids rely on level advantage more. it used to be easy to trash an alchemist by denying everything and widen the level gap. Now it doesnt matter if i deny too much. He will still outfarm me (being alche) no matter how much deny gold i get. Plus i wont even outlevel him all that much.

you realize that not that long ago you didnt get xp or gold from denies and you could still punish an alchemist. You just do what you did in those patches, which is basically what you did in the last patch. Sure you're not going to be as stupidly far ahead anymore but that doesnt make alch uncontestable.

^Yeah but you should also consider that long time ago alchemist ult was not that much OP ! It used to give you just a small amount of mana and hp regen. So you can not compare long time ago with current patch :D Dota has changed alot ! For example old school dota players might remember that orignally draw ult used to one hit creeps only (almost the same as her current ult)

^ U remember when back in 6.87 something alche ulti gave 150 hp regen and 3rd level ? And gave 600 gold with one bounty rune ?

What can I see is that, the more gold you get the faster you rushed your items, so midlane could provide impact a bit more earlier than before and starts making chaos in another lanes.

One thing about this deny mechanic though,
TA should even take more advantage, since she can do both last hit and deny with 1 hit (Psi Blade). So she is last hitting and denying at the very same miliseconds (and if you're lucky, that one hit is also harassing your enemy midlane too). She should be getting rich more faster than most midlaners in general.

You still remove 75% of exp for the enemy with denies.
