I thin you have a bit of a misconception
2k may as well be 4k, I am not claiming here right or wrong
But you try to apply in that statement that I am 2k, as you said I am 4k
The problem arises from the fact you assume I'm 2k, when in fact I'm 1k
So if 2k = 4k -> 1k = 3k
I think there is some non linearity assumption about the distribution that do not allow such simplifications as that one
