Happy Friday!

Team Liquid wins The International 2017

Team Liquid entered the history books last weekend as they defeated Newbee 3-0 in the grand final of The International 2017 to claim the Aegis. Winning well over $10,000,000 USD, the highest prize money earned within a single esports tournament victory ever, Liquid was also the first team to not drop a single game in the grand final of a Valve event. Newbee could've been the first organization in esports to claim the Aegis twice, just as Faith could've been the first player to claim it a second time, but unfortunately for them it was Liquid's victory. All tournament results and statistics can be found here.

MP and Khezu depart from Secret

European qualifier winner Team Secret has announced two changes to their roster. Korean carry MP and German offlaner Khezu are set to leave the team. While MP has been with Secret since the beginning of the last season, Khezu only joined Secret at the end of last year, following the team's failed attempt to qualify for the Boston Major. No replacements have been announced yet and neither MP nor Khezu have announced any new teams yet either.

Team Secret's announcement can be found here.

Alliance parts ways with Handsken, Limmp and jonassomfan

Swedish organization Alliance will be looking to rebuild their roster from the ground up as they remove the trio of Handsken, Limmp and jonassomfan from their roster. The trio joined Alliance following the conclusion of The International 2016, but the team has been rather underwhelming since, failing to qualify for any Valve event since. No replacements have been announced yet and whether co-owner and co-founder Loda will return to the active roster remains to be seen.

The announcement can be found here.

Mineski presents new line-up ft. Iceiceice and Jabz

Filipino esports orgnization Mineski has officially unveiled their new line-up. Mushi remains as the only player from the squad that failed to qualify for The International 2017. Joining him will be former Faceless players iceiceiceiceiceice and Jabz, as well as former Rave player ninjaboogie and former WG.Unity midlaner NaNa. The team has played together for a few weeks already and successfully qualified for WCA. The official announcement was tweeted out by the team's manager earlier this week.

Siltbreaker Act II launched

The Battle Pass exclusive co-op campaign Siltbreaker now enters Act II. Valve pushed an update earlier this evening, introducing the new act, as well as Adventure Mode, a casual mode with a decreased difficulty that provides no rewards or achievements.

Four time Major champion OG has announced the departure of midlaner ana. The Aussie player joined the team after a major reshuffle in 2016 and promptly won the Boston Major with the team only months after. Prior to his engagement, ana was a substitute player for Invictus Gaming with no notable experience in official matches. In addition to his departure, ana announcedto take a break this season. A replacement for ana is expected to be announced soon.

OG's original announcement can be found here.

Also Noteworthy

  • Pudge has won the Arcana vote over Rubick.
  • Two new heroes have been announced, their release has not been officially scheduled yet.
  • The Clip of the week goes to Team Liquid's Miracle- who survives an initiation by Newbee and turns the fight around with an Omnislash triple kill.

Thanks for catching up with us. We hope you enjoy your weekend.

That clip should have gone to GH, without his counter-initiation, would have been nothing but a dead Miracle and a probable lost teamfight without the damage from the Double Damage Omnislash. Love Miracle but really, it was GH who salvaged what could have been a game-turning fight.
