I think that DBR has taken each and every profile in to account.
Thats the reason tehre are so many (in here at least) who are 91 - 99, because ppl who are silver and below have just played dota for the first time, or already stopped or just an inactive account.
The percentile means that you are in top 28% of the players who have a dota2 account, if your percentile is 72%.
And DBR has nothing to do with how valve calculates your skill level and whether you stack with beginners or public stacks or what ever.
Either way, if you want to play with better players, have patience, you will reach them if you play well enough. Win some games, and in my experiance, if you are good enough, it wouldn't take you long to reach "very high" games.
You need to realize that just because people post here might be diamond or platinum doesn't mean that represents the ENTIRE community.
Every game is recorded (as far as all I know) by dotabuff, and by consequence every player is included into the ratings, and therefore the percentile. You may very well be better than 72 percent of ranked players (which is what percentile is).
Yes, there is silver and bronze.
If you wanna play a game add me :D
On-Topic: I´m pretty certain that most players who show up to and talk about their DBR are pretty high and DB said themselves that merely 30% of all DotA 2 players check the site on a regular basis .

Ok, I'm somewhat satified not satified with my DBR. It all started 2 months ago playing with my cousins in some matched games that drove me down a bit. Just really wierd playing solo queue now and seeing what I call 'low tier' players. Just people with less than 50% wins or mostly under 50 games played. About 3-4 months before that I was solo queued with 'stacked pub teams' If i can call it that. Anyways I can tell I'm playing low tier, but when I checked my DBR i'm gold (under 1400s). So is there silver or bronze?
Also that 72% percentile rating? Does that mean I did 72% better than other players? I find that very hard to believe.
So my question is? what is the number of public accounted for DBR? 1,000? 10,000? I know many of you are 91-99% percentile but yea. Just curious.
