Le 1981.. i was there when the frenchies threw the white croissant and ran away from the germans and when the brits discovered that their island is sinking a couple centimetres every year.
Good old days... good old days.
Not just sinking but tilting so Northern Britain will be bigger than the South. That's right guys and gals, the mighty Scotland will one day dominate the British Isles as the Southern part disappears into the waves. See ya Devon. Bye bye Cornwall. Laters London.
@Monkeh aha.. good 'ol Wallace will have his revenge :D ... i'll make sure to open a bollte and toast to the future Scottish world domination.

dota is about 8-10 yrs old now? so I guess, what we could consider too old for dota are those people who were already working when dota warcraft 3 got created. people who are maybe 35 yrs old and above?
majority of the "PC gamer population" started around 2000 - during the days of NBA live, Starcraft, Diablo, Half-Life and Counter-strike. A lot of the teenagers got hooked into this. So we could actually still consider 35-38 yr old people :)
You're NEVER too old for a thing that you like. 1988 here :)
I also 1985. in the whole year of 2013. spend 4 hr on average everyday on dota.
yes i know. i am a loser.
lol. Since TI3, I averaged maybe 3 hours on dota during weekdays.
make it about roughly 8 hours during weekends :)
PC gaming started way before 2000 dude, there just wasn't a multiplayer explosion. But many hardcore gamers go back to days of civ and master of orion early 90s easily, even doom is 93.
Oh and I'm born in '84
i wasn't talking about the start of pc gaming dude.. i was talking about the "majority of the PC gamer population"
i know there was doom, legend of zelda, etc
The first PC type game I played was Pong. It came in a large box with about a 6 inch monitor. It was black and white and only did Pong. It had 2 modes: tennis and handball. These games consisted of a small square white dot that bounced off moveable white lines. The box made a ping sound when the "ball" was hit and a different ping sound if you missed. You controlled the lines in 1 dimensional movement by turning a dial. Serving the "ball" was automatic. The machine was either on and starting the game, or off.
Here is some video of a more advanced version that had horizontal and vertical control and 4 modes.

Mine was an older model and could not do this.
Well, by that post you can tell that he's definitely old, really old...or he lived a very poor gaming childhood.
Oh I didn't say I was a child when I played that game. That was just the first one I played. I have been saying I am 57 since I was teaching highschool ten years ago. My real age is a matter of dispute.
I am turning 22 tomorrow) And the first version of Dota I've played is 6.14, if I remember correctly.
96, been playing for 11 months and have 2200 hours, feels good knowing my social life is almost nonexistent
Hah, back in the days of Battlezone 1, when it used to be great fun and the community even if small at first, was awesome I used to play already a lot.
I'm 29 (1984) and gaming is just a passion for me, i love strategy games but i really am not that good at them, still i try a lot of them, been stuck on Dota almost since the beginning
