Randomness keeps games fun in my opinion. Sure, some skill may or may not be taken out with it, but it keeps things exciting. Fire Emblem for instance is one of my favorite games to play because of the possibility of missing and/or landing a critical. Completely different game I realize, but same thing applies: randomness builds up excitement and without it things would get stale in my opinion.
Pa's crit is not RNG its PRD...... its kinda like you want it to be ^^ :O
