pretty sure people buy tickets for a seat for the whole event. Kinda stupid I guess but that is how it goes.
Some people probably don't want to watch every single game.
I actually saw a lot of empty ones during EG vs DK game 1, but whatever, I wasn't going there anyway :(
Maybe on TI10.
The seats fill up as the game goes on. There are a lot of people wandering the halls for food, secret shop, etc. and there are TV's everywhere. It seems like they sold an appropriate number of tickets.
You probably never been to a LAN event. People go outside between games (WC, smoke, chill). And they slowly stroll back when another game starts. The stadium fills up back to full maybe 10minutes already into the game.
edit: I was at ESL-One and it was the same.
It is a several day long (each) event.
Everyone will not sit in their seats every minute all day for each of the days.

no wonder all the seats empty takes 4 days to buy stuff from secret shop

Jesus christ Valve needs to sort that shit out next year.
The "elite" item trading is getting stupid.
