Honestly I'm not a fan of not taking spiderlings. Reason being is we can force our opponents to either chose attacking us or clearing spiderlings in some situations. Bodyblocking can be very potent when solo ganking with them, especially combined with our slow.
Another useful thing about it is being able to micro spiderlings to jungle to find farm in a difficult offlane. Anyone semicompetant with shiftqueuing can setup their spiderlings to clear up multiple camps unattended, although this obviously requires a bit of effort to get started and can't be done too early.
