How does Party MMR Calibration works? in General Discussion

    Hello,
I just want to ask, how do Valve/DOTA2 rate individuals on a ranked party match?
Because I was just surprised with my rating. I recently got 3558 Party MMR after 10 games.
I'm playing with my 2k MMR friends, I got a 3-7 record, and I do not even have an impressive game out of those 10 games.
I even fed the enemy team alot of times, and I have alot of "Normal" games shown here as ranked party.
I feel like I do not deserve the rating. I'm expecting 2.9k or something near that, but 3.5 was really puzzling.
    Can someone answer this? Tia.

i think it's based on your solo mmr?

How is this even a question?

If you have been callibrated to 3.5k and you expect yourself to be in 2.9k then sooner or later you will be in 2,9k

Hidden MMR sets a starting point for when you calibrate, you lost a lot so it's lower than it couldv'e been, the reason it wasn't as low as your friends is just because you are playing someone with a lower mmr than you, it doesn't mean that your mmr will suck, the matchmaking system would just put a player like you on the enemy team to even the average mmr out. Sometimes the system fucks up and you end up facing people a lot better or worse than you, thats when you onl gain/lose for example 10 mmr instead of the normal amount.

Maybe because you played with 2k players, your stats were way better than everyone in game and you calibrated high.
