some people are good enough at enough heroes to deem randoming for 30% more gold worth it

because they're trying to make ranked all pick more strategic hence the turn by turn pick system

If you want to random and have fun, don't bring it to ranked where the one's goal should be to win and get mmr.
I've had more than two games recently where someone wanted mid, someone else picked a mid first, so they got pissy and randomed the last pick and completely fucked up our lanes and lost the game. Their responses are they didn't get to play what they wanted to they don't care about trying. I agree randoming is stupid in all pick at this point.
at least if you want to random, say "guys i random first pick".
but not when there are 3 cores picked and last 2 guys random void and antimage.

even if random was taken out that doesn't change the fact that that person is an asshole that doesn't pick heroes to help the team.
if you take the ability to random out of the game, is that person still an asshole? yes he is, and he will still continue to fuck up your games.

It is out, it's called Captain's Mode.
I think in Ranked there is much incentive to random your firstpick. There are fewer bad randoms than good ones, and you can start building a team around the random with a gold advantage in your pocket.
Last pick random = cancer
