watch any 6k+ player play ta, watch replays etc if u want to get better at her, its way more useful than having some potential 3k-4k retard write a wall of text here trying to teach u how to play lanaya lol. a lot of stuff is situational, you cant follow the same item build and even skill build every game. also theres prefference stuff as well. i sometimes like to get meld only at lvl 8
like for example if u are against qop mid and she has a sentry down theres no point for u to skill meld. you cant dodge her q with it (idk whats called, the dagger). i max refraction and put 2 points in psi blades which allow you to keep more distance from her, farm camps easier, stack camps easier (radiant ancients), and allows you to harras her easier on the lane cause of bigger range
@ay We're going to be releasing a feature to make that much easier soon. I hope before TI starts
prefference. i get phase. treads isnt bad either
phase - more kill potential early game
treads - farm easier, more survivability due to extra hp, save mana etc guess u know this stuff
u work around this
you can get kills early easy? get phase
they have a lot of lockdown which makes u unable to snowball very fast or abilities that take refraction off very easy? maybe get treads.
honestly id still recommend phase
Phase if you need chasing, Treads if you think you will farm a lot and your team has enough disables/initiation
"My average dagger timing is 12:00."
it's okay if you have aquila, good timing is sub 10 min
Stack ancients if you can, but be sure that your ancients are not warded
another random tips: at level 6, put traps in mid lane, if anyone comes mid, he's dead
Optimize farm as much as you can
bump
Do I have to learn how to balance ganking and farming? Or basically stick to one sort of strat?

Hi DB. One of the main roles i play in DOTA is #2, aka the "solo mid". And one of my personal favorite is Templar Assassin. I have just gone out from excessive smurfing, felt dirty about it, and came back to boost this old account. I started playing TA *because* someone used to give me free hats for her. I just had to try it out and fap at that sexy back/customizations. Well, shit happens, so... XD
I currently sit at 2.1K. This account used to be 1.3K so... :D
If I were to describe my skill bracket, I would say that overall I'm above average: advanced understanding of game mechanics, decent UI mastery and no problem with skillshots or last hitting. However my decision making skills are quite flawed and I have to say, I need to consult my doctor about my excessive anxiety problems :T (I;ve smurfed already in low VHS)
This is how I usually play Templar Assassin:
Skill Build: First point in either Refraction or Psi Blades> max out Refraction 1st>leave Psi Blades at lvl 1 until I max out Meld.
Item Progression: Starting Items are pulled tangoes(if im fat lucky) or a set of tangoes and 2 branches
Phase Boots/Power Treads (at the moment, I prefer Treads)>Blink Dagger
Luxury Items (in order of frequency/personal preference): Desolator>Black King Bar>Yasha Upgrade>
Monkey King Bar (too much PA's in my bracket)>Daedalus
Shitty stuff that hinders me from winning: A smart QoP/Viper, poor teammate cooperation/communication, grilly stacks, late game :(
My Current Playstyle:
There are 2 things I secure at mid: cs and runes. Solo kills are rare but I have never gone for it unless the opposing mid was born retarded. Since its 2K, I push my wave up to the enemy high ground and deal as much tower damage as I can. I don't forget to gank too, once or twice before 10:00, this is pre-dagger though, and whatever the outcome of the gank, I try to persuade my teammates to siege T1s. Oftentimes, I never leave that lane until we do break them.
My average dagger timing is 12:00. My average CS at that time should be around 40 or so. After breaking all T1s, I try to catch up with my farm by jungling (hence my recent preference over Treads). I bring TP all the time so when stupid 4-retard team gets cocky and asks for a 4v5, i can TP in and rek some shits out. My most frequent orb would be Desolator.
Three things I do in my most recent TA games: First, I secure farm, and more importantly, tower damage over anything else. Second, I gank occasionally but not to the extent that I dedicate myself too much in teamfights. Third, end this fucking retarded game real quick.
Some games I'd like you all to review:
http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1573353912 Grilly stack, lina was 1k. The main issue however, was getting out of my comfort zone: trying a radical build - building an HoTD to adapt to the opposing team. Was I in any aspect of the game, doing it wrong?
http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1608155859 Filthy pinoys never wait for DC'ed enemies. Apparently nobody else in the team persuadedeach other to push T1s when I was DC for 7 mins, so team ended up with FUCKING ZERO tower damage. When I reconned, enemy team was banging the mid T3's like shit. At least my kind team wasnt so retarded to sell my items to buy dagons. However, I had mad skillz and almost won the game. However I honestly though it was my fault why we lost - laying my life over an unexperienced Omniknight, skipping BKB over "omni-spam-repel-on-me" strat to buy what i then thought was more crucial: plain dirty DPS. Any thoughts?
