what is with all the WASD hate? if you use WASD u can still edge pain if you want, but if you want to move the camera and click on something at the same time and you don't have WASD bound you cant do it.
There is no down side to having WASD, but there is a down side to not having it.
But in reality it's all personal preference, I myself use WASD simply because I got used to the game that way. Each camera movement style has a disadvantage. For WASD user's it's the ability to move the camera and use spells both effectively. I got over that and now I'm fine.
I thought that's how every thread on dotabuff works.

your camera doesn't have to always be moving. As long as it works for you, that's what matters.
I've tried the middle click mouse drag method that S4 and Singsing uses and I think it is more efficient than edge panning. Though I can't do it with my current setup since my logitech mouse has this free scroll thing that makes it hard to use the middle scroll. But edge panning is totally fine
just double click your portrait so your camera Always follows your hero.
Some pro player (banana shitstain jamma) does that all the time.
Whaaat I can't understand how you would play with edge panning? I always used middle mouse button, this keeps your mouse in the center of the screen at all times, so you can faster target. My index finger sits on LMB and edges MMB.
If you edge pan you mouse flies over the whole screen all the time?
Follow hero camera sounds just to noob, this is not an option imo (only for watching replays)
And moving camera with keyboard takes away your hand of your skill keys? that not effective?
@gotvet
it works in a bit another way; you bind 1 button to work as if u pressed f1 twice, and normally its some mouse4-mouse5 button. most decent players use it, it makes things way easier.
Edge pan/mouse slashing is what I use now like most of the Dota community, but WASD gives you SUPERIOR camera control, it feels so good, but too bad it takes up lots of great keys.
I use "Attack" button about 5 times per match on average. And I use "Stop" button once per month. Is it worth to bind them on two very useful keys?

I think my camera pov is a bit static. I just realized that when I spectated one of my games. It it good to use keeyboard camera moving? I also notice this tiny overlooked option called Camera Grip. Is it good enough? BTW my cam speed and cam deceleration is set to high (3/4 of the max)
