Dude, "boosters'' just get on the account and grind mmr there. There are people selling the boosting service, some shady some realiable. Just like in life, you are responsible of your choices..
i think boosting is a nice opportunity for piss poor people to get some money while doing what they love
of course its gonna ruin games but there will always be acc buyers and boosted accounts, the market is oversatisfied to be honest. was boosting myself before i started university and its a nice way to waste some time
just some info: most of the accounts are in 3-4k range and want to get +1k mmr. cant speak for higher mmr since i only boosted to 5k.

That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard, you are locking your player's to one pc in one location. What if I get on my laptop at home or at a neighbors? What if I'm visiting a friend for a lan party?
Boosters are few and far between in my games and usually the ones that claim to be boosting suck anyway or are not appreciably better. Only one game I've ever been in where the guy said I'm boosting and I believe he was. It was after he called me an idiot for dying out of position and said that's why I'm 3k, my response was so are you asshole, and that's when he informed me he was boosting and that's when I reported him for being a tool. nontheless he did dominate our game and made some amazing plays people in my bracket just don't make.
those people who say they're boosting are usually not boosting and just want to claim mid for themselves. most boosters are confident enough to win from other lanes aswell.
well if not for every single game where people have to argue over mid in 4k bracket no one would even say they're boosting.
and by the way what's the point of getting boosted if it's so obvious like anyone can open your profile/dotabuff and see 50 win streak
