Well, casuals are a MUCH bigger audience than hardcore or core players, so get used to it, they don't care about the minority.
Just give people two months tops to find something else to bitch about. Happened before, it's going to happen now, it's going to be like that forever.
You guys should check out purge's opinion on this. It's good and I pretty much agree with him on most aspects.
This doesn't really detract from the complexity of the game (e.g. spawn blocking/tower aggro range will always be there), but the mechanics for this will be more easily available and allow people to better understand the game at a faster pace.
Obviously it sucks if you have already learned all of this before (like me re: spawn boxes), but this would help raise the general skill level of your games and it would give more of a challenge.
I really don't like this kind of change, but tbh I think the spawn box thing is necessary. Otherwise it takes an eternity to learn the boxes if you just do it through trial and error.
@Postitive Attitude Player: You don't do it through trial and error. You get into a custom game that shows spawn boxes then that's where you practice warding. But yeah, the point is that most players weren't aware of this.
the tower range shows just on hovering over tower or selecting it so it's not that bad as league
i think the same people whining about visible spawn boxes are the same ones who whine about supports not pulling/blocking/dewarding camps.
Give a thought to the newer ppl out there, now it won't take them like a fucking year to learn that kind of shit

This is going to be a bit overwhelming for new players in a sense.
There was a higher disparity through the skill levels, now the skill level just got closer to the middle.
Long ago you had places to show your skill in dota. Nowadays at the top level it's only about consistency.
Back then on wc3 we saw complexity in mechanics and heroes themselves. On dota2 so many things mechanically got simpler and people who could have been considered skilled vs unskilled were equalized. New things had to be learned to get back on top. Patch after patch dota 2 is getting simpler and more of the current "skill" required switches over from mechanics and personal skill to personality, consistency and game sense as a whole. We see a guy who knew these ranges, now to stay on top he has to learn even more than the guy who didn't know the ranges.
When I started playing dota I really liked it just because of those things that were needed to be good. These days many people who were really good back then and still are really good innately hate dota and can't play long sessions anymore because of what valve has done to it.
You could argue adapt or gtfo, but that is only in terms of winning. It's not in terms of liking the game itself. That leads to even more frustration in games and worse chat quality as people are not as concerned about their own mechanics (because that's long past the time it was the main skill you had to have to win) but can always find things to blame other people for while easily misjudging their own decisions.

it's ok to show the tricks but having them there 24/7 is like playing bowling competitively at whatever level with those rails on the side!! Put them with bots only and shit, not even unranked should be played like this.

camp blocking radius was available since forever just not in game, everyone probably already memorized the tower range and its target is not that important cause if it targets u u will get hit 1 time anyways, and then change aggro
its nothing like lol, u cant block camps at all in that game and tower range+target is only available in bot/co-op games
its only a feature to make the life of new players easier, if u have more than 500 games and still dont know how to block/deward camps, what the tower range is and how to change aggro u are probably brain damaged

Really good update. Skill level should not be the level of "secret knowledge" in that game, just mechanisms comprehension, pick & game strategy and pure skill.
If you drop from pro to noob with this patch... You just wasn't pro at all, just a noob thinking he was good by cheating (using some exclusive knowledge to abuse noobs). ;)
This ^ and display range on skills, and have everyone have the same skills and show Cooldowns for everyone to know
Maybe having secret knowledge isn't bad.
Like when music theory used to be secret in medieval times. Now we have Google, and every other coon is an aspiring artist! Overall art quality goes way down, to an all-time low.
But then dota isn't art so nobody cares, except the autists who would go to single player with mods just to learn warding radii (doesn't sound like fun anyway, so technically this update is saving them!)

Seriously guys, spawn boxes and tower range were problems only for new players or people who never cared about those things, and after some time you would learn those anyway so i see nothing wrong with this update. Spawn boxes in particular were easy to remember since there are "things" on the map that helps you see it's limits (like bushes, trees and other stuff).
There is definitely nothing wrong with having autism. Unless you mean like physical autism, that shit's a legitimate disorder.
