Low Expectations

Looking for some suggestions for good movies. My favorites are pursuit of happiness, shawshank redemption and good will hunting

Have you tried "meet joe black"?? Really good movie, I recommend. I also recommend Forrest Gump; The Truman Show; Jurassic Park; Saving Private Ryan; Fight Club; Pulp Fiction; It could Happen to You; A Walk To Remember; Pearl Harbor; Jumper (still waiting for the sequel -.-); Definitely, Maybe; Wimbledon (Because of kirsten dunst :D); Crash (really nice); and finally the movie I still have nightmares about xDDD: "Great Expectations".

op, pretty good choice of movies.

            Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, Matrix

            TripleSteal-

those ones that u might like basing on ur preferences - green mile, shindler's list, one flew over the cuckoo's nest, life is wonderful/beautiful (benini's one, originally la vita e'bella), american history x, untouchable, requiem for a dream, forrest gump.

generally good - matrix, dark knight, godfather (not 3rd!), city of god [stylistically unusual drama, id say], fight club, memento (ye i love nolan), eternal sunshine of the spotless mind [the only romantic film i ever enjoyed watching], lock stock and two smoking barrels [black comedy], knockin on heaven's door [comedy/drama], as good as it gets [comedy].

Charlie Wilson's War, The Departed, Analyze This/That, The Butler, The Rock, The Hangover, Body of Lies, Zero Dark Thirty, The Big Short.

                Professor Dog

                  Lawless

                  Dire Wolf

wow I didn't know beano was gay, a walk to remember? seriously? and kirstin dunst? Like that mousy looking chick who hasn't done anything in 8 years? Well I guess she's in that new fargo series but I haven't seen it. Pearl harbor? That was one of the lousiest teeny bopper movies ever.

Return of the King, Empire Strikes Back, Gladiator, Braveheart. That's my short list. Trying to decide if Force Awakens makes the cut, it was pretty damn good. And the new Mad Max Fury Road was excellent too.

Other ones worth mention, 28 days later, all those mobster movies (departed, godfather 1 and 2, scarface, miller's creek, good fellas, the iceman), war movies (saving private ryan, we were soldiers, the patriot, lone survivor but definitely NOT pearl harbor), superhero movies (dark knight, iron man 1st one only, avengers, x-men days of future past), sci fi (alien, Prometheus, sunshine, blade runner), anything with harrison ford but fugitive and raiders of the lost ark are probably his best ones.

Lawless was ok. Tom Hardy was awesome but then you have to suffer through Shia LaBeouf. So it's a toss up.

Just a few off the topic of my head: Karate Kid (the original, none of that remake or sequel garbage), Galaxy Quest, A League of Their Own, The Pianist, Super 8, Last Samurai.

And for anyone that likes documentaries, strongly recommend Third Reich.
