It should probably be core on core heroes that:
1) Have slot problems
2) Can farm it up relatively quickly
3) Actually right click people

i bought it once in my life, it costs just way too much~

its not core every game on sven because the crit can get dispelled but its great in the sense that it lets u go for pickoffs a lot more which is how u wanna play pubs. for example it makes it super easy to kill morphling.

Daedalus is better for farming, pushing, and is cheaper. The reason bloodthorn isn't purchased is cuz there r so many dispells, and counters to it, Bkb, linkens, lotus orb, and euls. Not to mention saves like disruption and astral. Too unreliable and expensive to be core.

NO. 7000 item can easly get countered by cheap purge items. I always buy it if i'm already going to buy a Sheepstick. Otherwise, its situational depends on enemy heroes. Manta & diff is very popular in this meta and a core item on most carry heroes which makes this 7k item a little bit useless.

Daddy you are 99% wrong, for a 6 sloted carry with a orchid bloodthorne is the next item they will build 90% of the time, it also depends of the enemy lineup, and ur hero, agaisnt a timber is very usefull, if he doesnt have any purge.
Plus it gives more dps, because of the chance to crit and that 60dmg, people build that on razor, storm, clinkz, and others ,the item is actually quite diverse, its great for pick offs and great for teamfight, its is core for every orchid carrier, since its a natural upgrade from the normal orchid.
The item price isnt that big, because if you gonna buy a orchid you might put a +3k on crits and recipe, for more dmg and the remove miss chance.

Actually for someone like slark who can guarantee hits I wud say it is good. But a simple force staff and u missed like 3-4 potential crits. So instead of upgrading orchid u cud go abyssal to guarantee more hits or hurricane pike to catch up (given this theoretical scenario). I just find unless ur 6 slotted there isn't much reason to buy it.

As for clinx I just find deso build usually better

Storm needs mana not crits. Bloodthorn is for his six slot. And I've never seen it on razor. In ns bracket it can work cuz no one buys and purges

well i've rushed bloodthorn on lina and my manta diffusal void instagib bloodthorned tanky cores in chrono - its a niche item, its like a completely superior orchid (lower cooldown too so you might use it twice in a fight even if it gets dispelled) that doubles up as a supreme DPS item.

Theres too many ways to debuff bloodthorn. Manta, euls,bkb, oracle and etc.

well he just doesn't understand what core means, that's all.

of course a 7k gold item will be good on any hero, like divine rapier is, but just like rapier, bloodthorn is not core on any hero whatsoever.

It's a sixth item because the build up is terrible on practically every hero. The few heroes that are good orchid carriers don't benefit much from crits and vice versa. That's also not including the expensive recipe. It's a good last item on heroes like Storm and Clinkz in extremely late game scenarios.

sorry sorry i forgot to mention that it is core in every 1k game because no one buys bkb ever LUL. i guess if u guys are worried about dispels and shit, it kinda has low cd which is awesome. if u are not in a position anymore in a fight u can still help ur teammate increase their dps ;p
