General DiscussionQuick cast. Do you use it? Why or why not?

I use it because I found it awesome for many heroes. Dodging spells with storm is way more easy with quickcast for me. And when I dodge lina or lion ult with storm I feel like 9k Kappa !

I use it because I can now macro bind Tab E so I can be no.1 meepo player.

I know most ppl would use quickcast on meepo or tinker.

I use quickcast on everything except for 1 item slot (tp scrolls) and for IO relocate

some pro players dont because they're used to wc3 dota

but majority who use quickcast have a combo of quick + normal cast

I use quickcast but not for spells which can be selfcast or when i need to know their precise aoe (new techies mines)

use smart selfcast and quick cast, also use the hero query thing and the rightside minimap.

on some heroes like storm or tinker it's extremely good, on some not. it's a matter of preference mostly
personally i use quickcast on almost all spells but those with selectable AOE cast(with a few exceptions like LSA or magnetic field) and on item slots 2, 3 and 6

I use quick cast on hero's spells. Normal cast for items because most of them needs double click self-cast because Force Staff and TPs are the limits to me.

People seem to not know you could use quickcast and normal cast on one setting at the same time

Question is if its a shame using quickcast? As for me IT is because u Have adventage over other players that not use IT. They made this gamę easier and easier so immo its a shame of using this crap. Any thoughs?

Quickcast on tiny is rlly good to hit the avalanche toss combo better

everyone half decent is using quickcast

I use quick cast on all my spells and i got like 2-3 items on quick cast. If you really wanna up your game you definitely need to use it. Blink abyssal/blink orchid is so much easier

Depends on the hero, and for item slots I have 3 quickxast and 3 normal

I'll never win a duel if i done it with normal cast.

I have custom settings for every hero. If I need to cast something on myself all the time by double tapping, I don't quickcast it, but otherwise I do. So duel and rupture are quickcasts while press the attack and blood rage aren't. Items 1 2 3 are quickcasts (blink is usually 2), items 4 5 6 are normal cast. Since 5 is on space (1 2 3 4 6 are on numbers), it's usually forcestaff since I need to easily cast it on myself in clutch situations and need to double tap it.

@Klonu: That's one of the most stupid things I've read on those forums, and I've read diox and relentless.

Like press the attack -> blademail -> blink -> halberd/bloodthorn (for fukin linken) -> duel.

For me it's just not humanly possible to do that with normal cast.

Actually im dota1 player and I dont see any reasons why using quickcast. You could use micros in same way.
If someone cant press one skill bm and another skill that means in my opinion that the Hero is to hard for him.

But what bothers me is I get different items every game
I might get an Eul's + Force Staff + Glimmer Cape, instead of Dagon + Blink Dagger + Scythe + VeilOD(enemy target only)
The rest of the slot is set normal cast for TP, wards.

With the introduction of back pack and smaller item slots, you'll have a harder time arranging items too sometimes you buy TP from side-shop for good shit burn escape and guess what, it's in your third slot which you set as quick cast you tele to some tower instead of fountain and burn to death.

Also... the Alt button as smart cast thing doesn't apply on me. I was a HoN player.

And quick cast is too goooooooooooooood it saves you the clicking time which is decisive in initiation or whatever
Imagine using tinker and you have like lets say 4 item actives to cast on somebody
Quick cast user only has to press 4 buttons while normal cast users needs to click 4 more time with good alternating precision (pressclickpressclickpressclickpressclick)
A 0.2 sec gap is enough for target to cast blink or something and run away

Sadly I got used to normal cast on items because item varies in game and position so I never learn Tinker.

Quick cast on Force staff is bad AF..

its just a question of habit, i hated it now i use it for almost everything but arrow/hook/dagger
