I've never been flamed for safelane weaver. Honestly I didn't even realize weaver was played anywhere else.

idk my pubs are so used to offlane weaver only, which is fine if you can win the lane 2v1, sometimes you can cus enemies are retarded or really weak melee heroes like spec or slark. Once I beat a jug + lich cus they never bought wards and lich was very passive. If I were that lich I would be warding so jug can bladefury right on top and spamming that nuke. So I could just harass jug out of lane and get free farm.
But I played vs a solo PA and got wrecked. I tried to harass level 1 but he would just back up and not cs and weaver's range is poor. Once he hit level 2-3 dagger it was infinite spam, he had a pms and I couldn't trade hits any more and I had to back up.

Yeah I don't think most people are that bad any more, at least I hope not. I always go aquila, brown boots, then lance, treads, deso in some order. If I need lane regen I'll grab ring of health but that's it. Sometimes (rarely) I don't even finish linkens if enemy team doesn't have anything worth blocking.
Why do you care about low 3k's opinion anyway? They still think that earthshaker hard counters spectre xd
Exactly. Like any idiot knows you go boots/blight stone to phase/treads and lance deso bkb and so on.. Way to throw the game for faceless. Even in the fights faceless won black did nothing, he joined late and then passed through invis... 0 hits, no dmg dealt and still even almost died

Just go play him mid then, I've try all position of Weaver from carry safwlane to roam support, and
you just show your team what you can do as a Weaver. And heck yeah I even play Weaver jungle https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3075826236 .
But the most succes i've got playing weaver at 2-3k bracket is in mid or offlane position for punishing the enemy mistake. Yeah There will be always people wanna go carry am or spec or some shit like you said and throw the game cause you pick Weaver safelane.
PS : Weaver can easily kill PA if you are 1 vs 1 before he get his deso .
easily kill PA? How? He will rush pms so you do very little right click and your range is not very good anyway so you'll have to dive past creep wave if he backs just a tad, he can just back to tower if you sukuchi or swarm him, then he will dagger spam you and keep you low hp and off guard.
Swarm can be used for whne enemy creep are near PA, you will not get attacked by creep or tower with swarm, PA dagger range is nerfed a lot for lvl 1-3 . you just take the lh from the creep you want backoff again, wait he use his dagger to farm, and you swarm him when he is with his creep or near tower and you easily kill him. And don't forget a wand if you are against PA.
swarm does minimal damage, and the only think youre gonna do by swarming him near his creepwave is youll give him more farm
post level 6 pa wins the matchup by far, with blink strike, evasion, and a couple crits youre dead. even if you ult yourself the pa just has to right click you again, in which case you run as weaver
pre level 6 the matchup is even i guess. pa doesnt have insane damage yet but has evasion and blink strike, you have shukuchi and swarm. cant really kill each other unless you go man to man no retreat
I usually go offlane (but mid is best if match up is good), but mostly cause I like the shrine close. I think the new shrine made the offlane better than the safelane...
Seems like a toss up match up to me. Goes PAs way until MKB. Early lane is PAs to lose.
Speaking of newbs who rush linkens. I'm confessing my sins here. I have looked and found I do better when I don't go linkens first... but that usually means the other team doesn't have the single target lock down so i skip it... so I would win anyways.

Are you guys seeing this in pubs? I almost always play him safe lane lately but people go huh? at best and flame me at worst and get very angry. I think they're more mad cus they want to play some stupid am or spectre shit than they really are about the pick though.
But his pickrate for safe is 30% so seems popular enough for them to have seen it and win rate is over 50% for every lane.
