It is VERY WORTH it.
Think about it.
In market, the chest only sells for about 1.80, so that is like 1.60 in your pocket and it's sold for 1.80 on steam so they get their small cut.
And that is the chest. Once opened, the immortal itself is around 50 - 80 cents.
1 level costs 1.99, so 2 levels would cost 3.98. What do you get for recycling an immortal? 2 levels. That is 4 bucks saved, that is time and effort of posting on steam market saved.

Well the chest is like 1.80 on average in steam market which is better than buying for 1.99 at store lol
But judging from previous Ti's the immortals are cheap and worth 20 - 80 cents.

Since this year's immortals cannot be traded and marketed until 2018, I doubt any of them will be worth more than 1 dollar.
If you get Rares in the chest-roll I would hold on to that. Everything else is trash for trade or quick cheap market resell.
