most of the time people like that don't want to learn the game so i don't think you can help them
get an even lower smurf that you can solo carry from

Hey kotato, it's pretty simple, just don't take the game too seriously, and yeah use even a lower rank smurf that match your casual friend, maybe some crusader rank or even lower account would do to compensate the skill difference

Well in my own experience getting this so called "casual player" is always some kind of stressful game lmao maybe I'm the one who need to not take the game seriously :(

Dude i actually have no idea. I ocasionally try to find some parties in the Channel chat etc and god damnit, its horrible. Usually im the highest mmr in the whole group and try to call out shots etc but man, they are literally ignorering everything and do their own thing. Tilts me like hell. But i learned to deal with and just take heroes that can possibly solo win. Damn
Maybe you can lower your standard and play vs bots first? Then make him pick carry and you support, make him feel the pain of carrying a game lol, even though it was a bot game.
Had a similar friend. Girls especially, I think it's nice they're at least putting in the effort to play with me tho. That's what matters. Let them do their thing it might work for them for a while until they hit a wall that is when you can actually get to them.
usually i'll just play with them and just doesnt talk anything if its playing with new people that i dont know
but if we started playing together(or pretty close) for a long time i would probably start controlling the guy if their stuff is gamelosing
like wat people say,go 30-0 4 of 5 games on your smurf and start discussing to them after games on what they should do etc(in game is also ok but usually when playing dota its hard to talk not like a caveman with keyboard)

it's fine if they're learning the game, that's different. but low mmr seems to mysteriously correlate with an intense desire to find SOMETHING to blame losses on (draft, teammate, astrological conditions, etc)
@Kotato : Maybe plan bane and nightmare your friend while he is doing something important and then reply sorry i misclicked. Also tell him/her that they misclick a lot as well and you wont be working with him if continues to do so.
Just let him do whatever he wants. It`s not like you need him, or that, you have o told him what to do. If you play for fun let him have fun if he have if he doesn`t have fun he will stop playing. Just think what you want to play with him or not to play. If you don`t have fun in game than don`t play, but you can try something, sometimes you can have fun in no skill game, cause you can do whatever you want.

those heros are really complicated for a casual player! They are! he makes aganim first item on both!!! Yes, first item! And yet, 85% of his ults are hitting 1 person on both heros

SK is complete trash atm and i wont waste worda on it. Lich is way harder to play since the nerf and now requires very good map awareness and positioning because he lost fuckton of movement speed so if you are in wrong place you are dead, you will not get away.
If you waste that frost armor bullshit spell on wrong target you wont gave another for 30+ seconds that's a lot pf time in dota.
His aghanims is i think second worst aghanims in the game right behind WK. Its good in sub 3k environment only sonce those mouth breatherers cant micro their hero so you potentially can have more than 10 ult bounces.
I would just play bots and unranked and do the best you can to try and teach.. not overwhelm them with too much info but give simple tips about their hero to start.. idk how casual/new you mean though and I'm just a scrub too & a support player so more often than not I just do my own thing and try to help as best I can
I know someone whos just like OP's fren. I think his mmr is at most high 2k to 3k. But he refused to listen and when he plays mostly support he always does the wrong thing ie auto attack creeps during lanjng and pushing wave. And almost always he plays complicated high skill cap hero like lion he max mana drain first . He is carried in party mmr games to ancient by immortal and divine teammates so he think he is gucci. And he always think that it is always to feed like 1-15 etc as supp.

Just don't play ranked with him. If you don't take Dota seriously in general, it shouldn't be a problem for you to lose some unranked or turbo games. Don't try to teach him the game, if he takes it so lightly and carelessly it will be waste of time. Just don't have any expectations. Use the games with him as a chance to try weird things or heroes you're not good at, instead of playing to win. The friend that introduced me to Dota is exactly like this and he used to piss me off sooo much, especially 'cause he wants to play ranked only. But there's nothing you can do besides either adjusting to him or completely avoid him.
I play with 4 of them sometimes everyone is below 1.5k and at the end of the game me they blame me for Not solo winning. 🤣
My offer still stands i am willing to give you my 3k smurfs i calibrated ancient 7 barely strugled to divine 2, since i was divine 5 last season and almoast immortal im giving up on dota cba grinding again, so my smurfs are at your disposal your smurf is 4k nearly thats too high to carry low players efficiently on 3k you wont break a sweat.
I'm already a trash 2/3k MMR player but sometimes I play with a friend who plays YOLO and doesn't listen to me.
That fact that we're playing together and having fun is more important for me than actually winning.
I've seen people playing Counter strike for 10 years with 0 skill, they still enjoy playing the game

Ok, i have a friend who sucks in dota and we play as a party from time to time. He is not learning anything and just want to enjoy the game which is all fine and well, but sometime he takes on tasks that are beyond his comprehension as playing some complicated hero as lich or SK. He disregards my advice in 9 out of 10 cases and builds midas or aganims on any hero or position. He does not follow the basic commands like: "use stun on CM", he would rather use it on a hero next to CM while CM is ulting. He mis-clicks every 3 minutes...
Soooooo anyone want to share their experience with party players like that? Any good suggestions you have that i have not considered myself yet?
